The Internet as we know it has been basically a read only where we get information. The Web 2.0 is the modern day idea of users interacting on the Internet through read, write and share. Examples include blogs and wikis.

a Wiki is a space on the Internet created by a user allowing others users (or open to the public) to interact on the wepage through collaboration and sharing of ideas. One popular wiki is WIKIpedia.com: an online encyclopedia open to the public to create, revise and edit.

Stands for Web Log. A blog is an online journal which can be used for a variety of reasons. Blogs are easy to start and can be used for business and/or personal purposes. Blogs are intended for users to nteract with Blogs that are made to the public. Blogs can in fact be set for private use or as a read only where users cannot comment on them.
MySpace.com
(or MySpace) is a free service that uses the Internet for online communication through an interactive network of photos, weblogs, user profiles, e-mail, web forums, and groups, as well as other media formats. NetLingo
Netlingo is an Internet Language that was created by users to enable faster communication. A good analogy would be "the short-hand" on the web. Kids will use netlingo in chatting and text messaging. Here is an excellent site that lists up-to-date netlingo.

JPEG
stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group. It is a file for storing bitmap images. It can be compressed to a very small size. It is often used for high-quality photographic images.
MPEG
(motion picture experts group)--one of several standards for presenting motion pictures over the Internet.
Search Engine
Software that facilitates searching keyword indexes of Internet documents. Well-known Internet search engines include AltaVista, Lycos, HotBot, and Google. Search engines vary widely in their coverage of the Internet, the largest indexing nearly 3.1 billion Web pages. So-called metacrawlers can be used to return top listings from numerous search engines at one time. A more structured means of finding information on the Internet is to use a Web directory like Yahoo or Google Directoy. Directories of Internet content take an approach similar to traditional catalogs and indexes in that they are based on predefined subjects and provide access to materials that, in many cases, have been reviewed.
Bookmark
1.) A saved link to a web page. You save this link in your web browser and it is easy for you to go back to that web page next time you're on the Internet 2.) A bookmark can also be found within a web page or other electronic document. For example, if there is a table of contents at the top of the page, you just click the link to where you want to go and you will be taken to the appropriate section of that document.

A cookie is a file from a site you are visiting that gets saved on your hard disk. It is only an ID tag and there is no danger to your hard disk. It also doesn't identify you personally unless you give the site your personal information. You might do this if you are shopping on a site and they keep your previous purchases, shipping and credit card information for your convenience.
Domain
A domain is a web page address. It is what you enter into your browser to find a particular web site.
Flaming
On the Internet, flaming is an insulting, angry or otherwise negative remark to or about someone in public. This can be on a message board or anywhere else others can view the remark. Although it may seem like common sense, never flame on the Internet; it is poor etiquette.

a pixel is an individual dot that makes up a graphic image. For example, a 640 x 480 monitor is 640 pixels wide and 480 pixels high. If you are doing banner advertising, you will often see the specification that your banner must be 468 x 60; this means your banner can be 468 pixels wide and 60 pixels high. Your graphics editor program will allow you to determine your banner's size.

a server that stores visited web site content on their local hard drives in order to cut down on overall traffic throughout the Internet.
SPAM
